Color does matter. I knew I want a 6-speed C5 and that was about it till I found out that there are Speedway White Z06s out there!!! I had to have one!!
I had a WHITE 78 Vette before, I guess I really like the look!!
I would take almost any color as long as it wasn't GOLD, BEIGE, BROWN . But seeing that C5s do not come in any of those I was very flexible. I really wanted peuter, but ended up with Silver
A friend is looking for a C5 and will take any options as long as the exterior is red.
How important was/is the color scheme for you?
Would you pay extra for the right colors?
Would you wait months until you found the right colors?
Color is purely a personal choice.
That said, Red and Black are the most popular colors and will sell at a higher price than will less popular colors, simply because more people want them and sooner or later you'll find someone willing to pay for them.
I was impressed by Nassau Blue when I bought my C5, it is one of least produced colors (not super rare however). I like any color except white on a C5, jmho.
I guess to each their own, I looked and waited until I found a Speedway White Vert w/ Lt Oak top
I had a black C4 and when I went looking for a C5 I was ready to accept any colour but black, red, or yellow; I added white to that list. Liked some of the blues, fell in love with spiral gray, but settled for pewter because it was the right car at the right price and I'm very happy with it - stealthy but classy.
Considered a MY coupe, but really wanted to find a TR one. Then saw a EB and loved it. Along came a pretty good deal on this AE (Anniversary Red) in great shape, and that was it. I still like to look at Torch Red, still admire Electron Blue, but this AE has every thing I want on a 'Vette, and I'm so glad to have it and the color has grown to be my very favorite of all the colors.
Magnetic Red with tan or Silver with red were the only ones I wanted and waited until I found one in Garage Queen condition. 99 vert, Magnet Red with 17K miles.

That is the color combo I want, with a six speed, there are some out there but all the ones I have found are a few thousand dollars more than other similiar cars in different colors

I have to drive my car and I have to live with the color, If your friend wants red then he should get red then, I got Pewter when I got mine and love it, Would I drive another color? Sure I would, There are only a few C5 colors I wouldn't have.

I quickly realised that silver is a real classy colour on this car. The car gets attention but probably not as much in that colour - something I've come to appreciate. As long as the car was mint and had a black interior I was happy!
Ur Canadian too eh ? Ask me how I can tell...
I just wanted the fastest color.... Simple as that. You all know about the SilverBullet right...
