i had to put a new slave cylinder in car has 11,185 miles on her. So i changed to a spec 3 clutch and plate and an alumiun flywheel.and a hurst short throw shifter will i was at it. WOW what a beast now can't wait till clutch is broke in.
did you balance the flywheel to the new clutch assembly ? Im just about to do mine and ive decided to go against a aluminum flywheel due to balance concerns
When I went to an aluminum flywheel it took some getting used to when starting from a standstill, but is great now that I'm used to it. It feels more responsive and is easier to match revs. I also picked up 7rwhp and 7rwtq throughout the entire RPM range on the dyno.
I just crossed 500 mi in my new Spec3+. I stayed with the steel flywheel, although I am having second thoughts after reading others comments. I got to do some high rpm shifts last nite and everything seems to be working OK. I am off the Road Atlanta Monday, so it will get some work there. I can't tell if the old one was slipping that bad or it had just been a while since I had it at full boost, but it is like a rocket sled . Can't wait to get to the track.
Does the al flywheel chatter much? My chatter is mostly gone, but I have to start out at a little higher rpm than I used to. Good luck with it.
