Default American Racing Headers - Install Pointers

I am lucky enough to own a lift so I had the car up high...

Passenger side:
- remove starter (2 bolts)
- move all wiring up and out of the way
- loosen engine mount nuts
- note, AC/compressor bracket was not installed in the car (doing an engine swap so hadn't got to it yet and figured it might help to not have the compressor in the way. An Elite Engineering Catch Can WAS installed on the head.
- Important note, install starter back on the block BEFORE inserting any bolts in the header.

Feed header up from bottom and lead with the part of the flange furthest from you. Push up and twist slightly until flange closest to you is near the bellhousing, tilt far end down a bit and push up.

Drivers side:
- move clutch hose out of bellhousing holder (just push up)
- remove clip in the firewall for the 02 sensor wires (try a test fit and you will see which one is in the way)
- move all other wiring up and out of the way
- note, alternator was not yet installed from engine swap, not sure you would need to remove it.

Feed header up from the bottom and lead with the part of the flange furthest from you. Push up and twist slightly until flange closest to you is near the bellhousing. Far end of the flange should be nearly touching the base of the head, tilt far end down and twist slightly and push up.

Took me about 5 minutes on each side to work the headers into position after moving all the stuff away! Just need to attach the gaskets/bolts and then put all the wiring back.

Paul.
