Can U Replace C5 Ash Tray w/something else?
I just bought a 2000 C5 and I don't need the ash tray or lighter.
Is there something GM makes that will replace it??

I used my GM factory garage opener from an Eldorado..just go to a wrecking yard..you usualy can find one.it fits in the overhead console..just pull it straight out..can be programmed to open any garage door..just follow the directions. ( get the mounting bracket and wires to go with it ) is a nice unit with little lights in it to show when it is operating. Has three functions that you can program.

Nope, not a thing. Custom is your only option. Double-Din mods can remove the ash tray area completely though (I thought the flip-door was tacky and I didn't need the area either). Here's mine while it was still in progress:

Nothing that GM makes, but an XM radio can go there, or some extra buttons for things like heated seats or nitrous have been installed there.
