Default It finally happened

Almost 9 years and 120k miles running with no run flats and yesterday I picked up a 1/2" dia bolt in my Nitto's. Had a temp patch put in to get home, ordered a new tire on-line, will receive it in 5 days. No regrets when I think about the cost savings and quiet ride over the years. I really don't think the GY run flat would have stood up to that bolt either.

That's a heck of a run without an issue.

That's still a good trouble free record.I got rid of the run flats this time too. What a difference they made in noise reduction!

I agree that is a great trade off.

You'd be surprised, I came out one day to 0 PSI according to my DIC and drove into work and then back out to get it patched.

I recently got a nail in my Vredestein tire. It held air pretty well still with the nail in there for a few weeks before the nail was found. About once a week the tire pressure was telling me it was low. I had just gotten the tires and wheels put on so I thought maybe they didn't do it correctly. I went back and they found the nail in there. A few bucks later and it was patched and is as good as new. The crazy thing is I totally thought it was the tire install and figured it holds air ok so I drove to Vegas and back from LA the other weekend. The nail stayed in place just fine.

Best of luck with your new tire. Gotta love not having those runcraps. Better ride quality is worth it to me.

In 27k & 4 years I've had 2 flats... one was reparable and the other cost me $425.00! 335's in the rear....
