Default Vanity Mirror

Just noticed that the vanity mirror on the passenger side has partially detached from the sunvisor. Now it is just attached at the bottom. What gives??? No one even uses the thing!! How is the mirror attached. Or will I need to purchase another?

You've got to be kidding me! Mine came unattached at the top last night! Mine happened when I was doing about 75 on the highway. All of a sudden there was a loud crack! and it was dangling. I threw up in my mouth a little.

Ahhh almost good point..My problem with my mirrors is that the lid i guess you could call it at times doesn't shut all the way. I noticed this at night driving down the road and i can see the light shining thru the visor. If i were to hold it shut of course it goes off....I'm sure i could tape it shut to hold it down....but that has got to be a better way..??

Hi, thats a good fix. I found industrial strength Velcro tape works real well, and if needed you can remove the assembly to repair it.
Good Luck

Here's the zip tie mod that I posted

Refix Vanity Mirrors

Pull the mirror away from the housing gently. Stick a piece of 3M double sided tape along the inside edge of the top of the mirror between the two holes in the visor.

Thread a small zip tie through each hole from the back and outside of the hole, with the “head” of the tie located in the large rectangular recess. Pull the tail of the zip tie towards you and thread from inside to out through the hole in the locating pin. Push the tail through the head loosely at first.

Use needle nosed pliers (holding the tail) and a precision screwdriver (pushed against the head) to tighten the zip ties. Be very careful when pulling the ties tight not to pinch the lighting wires which run through the same hole. Once tight, snip the spare tail of the tie but carefully so as not to snip the electrical wires.

Push the mirror back into its housing and press firmly against the double sided tape.

Should be good as new.
