You know, realistically there's probably not much difference between the 3 when you're less than 500rwhp. Stock cubes, no FI I would probably go with LG Pro's, High HP, FI or stroker motor's, I'd likley go with the 1 7/8 Kooks for the Street and probably ARH for a race only car since the short primaries tend to help build high rpm power. You will not get a flat this is the best header since they all work in different areas and are superior to the others in those area's albeit by only a few hp. I like my LG Pro's and have no issues with them what so ever.

Now that's the kind of info I'm looking for. I'm not near 500rwhp and don't have plans for FI in the future. I have and intake, throttle body, and looking to add a little more juice with the headers. Probably won't do anything internal to the engine until warranty is up in 3 yrs.

Is the tuner charging you the same amount for installation? I've read that Kooks are a real pain to install. Just want to make sure he's not suggesting them so that he can charge you more labor.

Default Why all the arguing?

I have LGs on my procharged Z that were installed by A&A Corvette and like some have said they CAN leak, mine do and I've had to mess with the clamps a couple of times. Given the oppurtunity I would probably go with the ARHs or the Kooks. I've seen cars almost identical to mine with Kooks and they have absolutely no problems with them. Also, ground clearance was better on the Kooks than on my LGs and both cars being compared were lowered. Power wise, I could give a damn about a "few" horsepower, I'd rather have a flanged connection and better ground clearance, just my 2 cents. Any of the long tubes discussed on here will give you a noticeable power increase you will be happy with. If you can "feel" 3 or 4 horsepower difference at a certain rpm, well all I can say is wow, you have one sensitive heiny. People will defend their almost $2,000 purchase to the death and stay loyal to their chosen brand. Well, with a few exceptions. Stew over all the opinions, and keep in mind they are just that, opinions and do what seems in YOUR best interest. Good luck.

My lowest point are the cats, my headers tuck right up against the bottom of the car. Is it possible you have some bad motor mounts? Are you lowered too far? Also, when I bought mine, Kooks were the same price after shipping. I could drive to LG in 15 min. and have them in my hands so I got LG. I paid under $1700 for mine and Kooks LT's with cats were $1600 + shipping and waiting everywhere I looked (4yrs ago).

Good question about the motor mounts, I'll have to check on that, I'm getting a driveline chatter taking off from a stop that I thought was just how life was with a Tex clutch, seems weak motor mounts can cause this too. My car was modded when I bought it so I can't compare any of mods to stock, just my impressions of how it is now....

Make sure your "over the axle pipes" are banging on the front of the rear cross member, mine were initially when I put the headers on and I had a chattering when moving from a dead stop.

Do you have any pictures of the LG's next to a set of the Kooks?
Well, I’m starting to lean toward the Kooks 1-¾” dia headers. I like the cat and x-pipe locations and the fact that they’re welded together. It looks to me like the cats will end up close to their original location; where some heat shielding is. I like the joint on the collector and that I can use all 4 O2 sensors. If they have to go in from the top, well, maybe that’s a plus for me even if it is a little more difficult. I sure would like to see some pictures of some Kooks on the car.
