I wouldnt say Bye-Bye, but it needs a little pep shot. You gotta admit though thats its pretty cool when they wave back, and even better when someone else initiates the WAVE
Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't
And sometimes you just can't tell......
Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't
And sometimes it's just as well........
I have been waved to bye one C6 around here, and its probably because we had the same wheels.
There is the guy in a silver C6 with some racing stripe that I have seen twice that obviously lives near me that doesn't wave to me. I wave every time and mumbe, "I had the same car as you and guess what I sold it for a Z06" hahhahah lmao
I agree with the post. I'd say in my area most don't wave. In fact, I've virtually given up waving to C6's. 3 out of 4 never wave back. I don't know whether they're just 1st time Vette owners and don't know the tradition, or just snobs. Probably mostly the former and a few of the latter.
I've had my Corvette for nearly 2 years and I enjoy waving at other Corvette owners and being recognized as well. We must be really Texas friendly in South Texas because not only do other Corvette drivers wave but so do some non-Vette drivers. So, I say wave at everyone... it's contagious.
I have a jeep and the Vette and I get more waves from the Jeeps. Most are open though and they can see well. Most Vettes are buttoned up with the air on.
I still wave no matter if they wave back of not.
There is one cute blonde that I have seen more than once in a Vert C6 that waves blows here horn, jumops up and down and everything. Looks like a jack in the box. She really goes overboard.
I know in the jeepin' world, the wave goes back at least to the CJ5 era...30+ years. How long has the Vette wave been around? any guesses?
I got the answer!! Last night my friend and I went to the local ice cream
parlor for our favorite dessert. We were at the intersection when a new c6 vert pulled up. I waved, karen waved and the C6 driver looked at us like we were nuts. He pulled in right behind us and asked if "we knew him?' "Why did we wave?" Had to explain the tradition. His reply was he didn't know anything about it, but liked the gesture and would carry on the tradition. Another convert!!
