does anyone fix them or a specialty shop? I use Weldcraft Wheels to widen or fix wheels but I don't think they fix magnesium wheels. How do they repair major curb rash and dings in a magnesium wheel?
They polish up really nice. I would love a set that looks this good!
That is a polished magnesium wheel??? I had no idea you could polish one to look like polished aluminum. Do you know if they use the same polishing techniques to do magnesium vs aluminum?

I believe they do. I like the wheel a lot, the spokes are a little wider than the thin spoke C5 wheel, but not wagon wheel wide.

I love it. Looking at a set right now. Just need to sell some wheels and tires. Looked around today and there are 13 new tires not on wheels and way too many wheels as well. Had no idea I'd collected that many. Guess I'm a wheelomaniac.
I weighed mine and found that the 17 inch magnesium wheels were 2 lbs lighter and the 18 inch wheels were 3 lbs lighter. That's a total of about 10 lbs of unsprung weight. That's not bad at all.
Now, my numbers aren't exact, since I used my bathroom scale. In addition, BOTH sets of wheels had previously been mounted and therefore had wheel weights attached. I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make, but those are the facts as I observed them.
I'm ditching my runflats in December. The combination of a lighter tire and wheel should make a notable difference in performance overall.
As far as chipping, my Corvette is a daily driver and I haven't noticed any new chips since I had these installed about 3,000 miles ago. It seems to me that the real risk of damage comes from botched installation. Just use a reputable shop to mount and balance them and you should be ok.

I sold my Magnesium wheels for $250. If I would have known they polished up that good, I would have never sold them. I just didn't like the dull wheel next to the shinny silver paint job.

they require constant maintenance unless you clear coat them
