Default C5 Fuel gauge

What with the price of gas these days maybe I shouldn't complain, but my fuel guage is really slow to come off of full. As they are supposed to all of the gauge needles do a full clockwise sweep before returning to their correct reading. The fuel gauge sweeps to the right but only very slowly will it come back to what I 'hope' is the correct reading. This takes awhile, maybe five or ten miles. It only started doing this yesterday after I had the rear of the cat jacked to the moon looking at it's butt leak. What might this be?
Thanks, y'all!

I give you credit for coming up with a new fuel guage problem, but I have no idea why it is happening.

Yet another "this is what MY car does, I have no idea about yours" post, but mixed in with the dropping to 'E' thing, my cars gage will start off above half a tank, and slowly move up to full, or lower quickly over a drive, then register more fuel the next time I start it. This is all speculation, but I believe this would be related to the fuel sending unit dilema as the sender can't quite register what the float is doing due to degraded contact. The other obvious piece of advise is to check your grounds, and connectors for corrosion/poor contact. However, I am on this post to hopefully hear someone with a clear solution to this problem.

Maybe I'm parking it too close to my V-Rod. The fuel gauge on it quit working a week after I bought it With it I just use the odometer. I know it'll do about 110 miles on a tank, if I keep outa the throttle I'm not sure about the Vette yet???
Maybe someone out there in Vetteland will have the scoop on this goofy deal.
Thanks

The normal problem is the gauge dropping to zero.

I had a different snag when mine strted to play up. It would rise to 3/4 ans only slowly creep up to full.

I ran 2 bottles of Techron through and it hasn't been a problem since

I'd say you have the start of a fouled up sensor. Its caused by sulfur in the gas building up on the sensor. At this stage Techron will probably fix it.
