I first installed a B&B PRT exhaust and some month later a BPP Vortex Rammer. What I can say is that I really felt a quicker (and a little bit stronger) engine response when speeding up.
You changed your intake AND your exhaust. Naturally, you are flowing air a LITTLE bit better than with the stock air box. The stock box does represent a restriction, but at the stock power level, this is not a problem, the engine is getting all the air it needs for 350 HP at the crank. When you open the air box (a Z06 air box will flow as well most any aftermarket set up) you are allowing more air flow into the engine which will give you a little bump in HP (reducing HP loss a bit in reality) which in turn will give you a little better throttle response. This is the "SOTP feel" you are getting.
Again, adding an aftermarket intake is an essential first step to bigger mods that will need the increased air flow. For a stock engine the gains made with just an aftermarket intake alone are minimal at best.
IMHO, why spend four or five hundred dollars on an intake that won't net you anything more than just drilling holes in your air box would, unless you are planning future mods?

Just cut a hole in the stock air cleaner. I used a drimel and did it in about 30 minutes. I made mine a little bit bigger hole then this.
I read your interesting information and you guys sound like a good group of information. No one is guru, but allow me to toss my situation in for advice. I recently did H/C setup on my 00C5. I put all this in one go ; PRC 2.5, MS3, LG LTs, 37# Racetronix injectors and custom HPTuners tune from my friend =) we've got a license. Before the mod I had OZ700 tex clutch installed, Corsa Pace Car Exh, and I bought the car with the Halltech Stinger already on it 1.5 yrs ago. Now, I like my intake but a buddy is suggesting a VR-B2. I live in Houston - it rains a lot...lot. This is my DD. I'm considering moving to another intake provided it will make a difference, but like you guys said....I'm not about to shell 300+ for 7rwhp =) Let me know if you guys would recommend changing the air intake tract =(
Ahh, yes and of course I am choking it because I still have LS1 TB and LS1 intake I'm waiting for the Street Warrior by Wieand....if they ever produce it.
Oh, and I love my car especially when I get on it and it SCREAMS!!!

Next mods should be a power chips (diablo predator) and maybe a x-pipe. But I'm hesitating on the x-pipe as I think it will produce a louder sound and with the B&B PRT I'm already on the hedge of our local laws... well maybe already outlaw

You need an aftermarket intake ASAP!!! I would recommend the Honker, the VaraRam or the S&B air intake (similar to the Blackwing) it comes with shield to protect it from underhood heat. I would also add the infamous hood seal (won't add HP but will help shield your intake filter from water and help keep your engine bay cleaner
best bang for the buck off ebay... looks good runs very clean,(did the grease test, pasted with flying colors!!) less than $50.00 shipped.. and dont forget the 10hp hood seal to keep the water out!!!!
Additionally, if you change the intake, you also HAVE to change the exhaust. Otherwise you are just wasting time and money for a minimal gain.
What goes in must come out!
The trick is to balance the intake with the exhaust otherwise the engine will not perform optimally. I see some people adding all intake parts while still using the stock exhaust system.
