Paint Fade?
So before I decide to pull the plug on a few things, I have a question on the durability of the paint on our cars. Specifically MY. I am considering removing the BSMs and also adding some tasteful stripes onto the car. Mine is a 2001 and was one of the show cars Chevrolet used to display during road events. So I am sure it got PLENTY of out doors time. I want to remove the moldings but am worried that the paint may not match the pain underneath the area where the moldings are now due to the obvious difference in contact with direct sunlight. Does anyone know if there will be a problem with this? I would hate to remove them and have a huge discoloration down the side of the car.

You'll never be certain until you get the BSMs off
The only problems I can remember seeing are when the door had been resprayed without removing the molding leaving a ridge.
