Glad to help ... also, do a search as there are many threads about the differential leak. I'm assuming this is the leak you are talking about? If so, it's also possible that the vent has puked whichy will look like a LH cover seal leak.

So is this warranty work even though warranty has ran out, or is it only for the recall issues?

If the warranty period has ended .... it has ended. Even a recall campaign has an end date. The column lock recall has ended ... ANY column lock issues are now the responsibility of the vehicle owner, not GM or the dealer.
Unless you have an extended warranty (such as the GMPP) any problems with your C5 are your problem.
That's good .... but if you read the details of your extended warranty it doesn't cover recall campaigns. No insurance company is gonna pay for something if someone else will pay for it. A recall is a classic example ....
Right now there are no "problems" with a C5 that GM is liable to pay for other than EPA mandated warranties on some of the pollution control devices (for example your catalytic converters are warrantied for 80,000 miles or 8 years, whichever comes first).
If you think that you can retroactively get something "fixed" because of a recall .... notgonnahappen.com .... there are no outstanding "fixes" that GM will pay for on a C5.

The leaking differential problem was not a recall. GM just put a TSB out on it so the dealerships could fix the issue correctly.
Your extended warranty should pay for any seal leaks IMO.
