I see what you mean but don't let the depreciation make you wait until next year to get your Z when cars are cheaper. You only live once, make the most out of it. My advice is to not watch the sale ads once you have bought one or it will drive you crazy!
Im horrible with that! lol. After i do buy a Z i will prob still look at Autotrader and Ebay for months to come
I paid 32,000 for a 100% stock 2002 EB z06 with 6400 miles on it and feel that I got a good deal, It is in better shape then my other 02 Z06 which is modded to hell. I could of waited but would I find an other one with such low milage. Every time I fire it up I could care less about a couple of thousand I maybe could of saved
I looked at cars that were LIKE my car, but they just looked like it, None were in the condition my car is in.
I recently looked an an 06, on the surface the car looked good, nice paint good color(low production) it had 2K more miles on it than my car.
But after looking closely the car was used as an everyday driver, and was not in the same, or near the condition my car is in, so beware people do use these cars as everyday drivers, and altough the oil is changed and everthing looks good, you may run into one, that this is the first oil change it ever had.
You know some people believe Mobil 1 is suppose to last 15K, and you just might find one of those.
The 02 EB Z is a HIGHLY sought after car. I have had two. I would not sell my 62k 02 for you for less than 30k STOCK. You might get lucky, but I doubt it.
I have to admit though there is always a vette owner willing to take the depreciation, not drive it, then sell it in a crisis.

Im sorry but you will not get close to that. I can think of 6 Electric blue Z06's off the top of my head that have less miles and are under 27K. Just do a search on Autotrader and you will see what i am talking about. You will get LUCKY to get 25K for your car and i mean lucky.
I am not trying to be mean or rude in anyway, just realistic.

I'm looking at C5Z's and don't really care about color. 27K can get you a really nice one, even here in San Diego. Any more than that, to me is a waste of money as mine will be a true daily driver. If you are looking for the cream of the crop, low miles, excellent condition and keeping it for collectors value that's something different. Not being a butt head here, but only about 1-2% of the C5Z's would fall under that description.

These type of threads pop up every season. N00bs looking to steal a Z06 for a very low price sign up to the forum and then insist the cars are only worth their low ball offers. Z06 owners with clean low mileage cars insist they would not sell their car for these low ball offers. You might be able to get a car for cheap if the owner is really hurting for cash, or if the car is a little rough with a lot of miles on it.
I gotta say I enjoyed this section of the CF a lot more when my car was new.
No one is trying to steal these cars or rip off people. It is just some people on this forum are not being realistic about there cars and the price tag that goes with it.
Low ball offers, its called blue book. Try telling a bank you want 30K for a 02 z06 with 60K mi. You will get lucky to get 25..

Of course people are trying to steal these cars. They are trying to get the most car for the least amount of money. That is just human nature. KBB is just a guide, it is not the tell all valuation. The owners have every right to determine what their cars are worth and they do not need to sell if that price is not met.
I'm ready for a new C6 Z06 but I'm not selling my 11,000 mile cherry Z06 for KBB. I'll keep my car before accepting that value.
