but would you rather it scratch the clear plastic or your paint. Then it's doing it's purpose isn't it. I have a question, can you remove one of these, or is it on for good until you do body work and a repaint basically.
I own my own shop and professionally install the clear bras. They work excellent for preventing rock chips and yes there will be a little orange peel in the material but if it did not have that you would see every blemish in the paint and installation mark. I dont use 3M because it is too hard to work with and the glue is overly aggressive which creates more stretch marks especially on Corvette bumpers.

White is a tough color. I have been told before by the film manufactures that the color white has something in the paint mixture that will dis-color the film. Try some PLEXUS plastic cleaner/polish on it.

You can remove the clear bra if needed. How easy it will be depends on what film you have installed. If you have 3M you will be spending hours removing all the glue from your car because it separates from the film when you take it off. Been there done that. I used Avery Stoneshield it installs like a dream, looks excellent and I can easily take the bra off, buff the car a little, apply a new coat of wax and the car looks as new as when I put it on.
My white 02 received the complete 3M kit by professional installation when purchased in Texas. It has 18K miles, garaged 99% of the time, and is a weekend toy. Though I've had no rock chips, the product is turning slightly yellow, and lifting a bit along a few edges resulting in unsightly black lines. Since it costs about $1,000 installed, I wouldn't do it again.
I was given a spray wax with my install from Meguires that they told me to sray on the bra everytime I waxed the car. Any spray wax will work just as long as it doesn't leave a white residue. That new ICE wax from Turtle works good. It protects the bra and stops it from yellowing. Look for a wax with UV protectors.
Vish, I've had it on my coupe for 4 years. I would recommend it without hesitation. I would also recommend a professional install. Here is a pic of my coupe with the 3M installed.
