I just changed my front side lights to the clear ones and when I was in there I also changed both bulbs. I don't want to sound stupid but now when I start the car these are now on. They must have been burnt out,is this normal. Is this its daytime running lights? If so is there any way to turn off with the engine running? Thanks Mark
There are two bulbs in each corner light. One faces the side,it is a 194/168 and the other faces forward it is a 3157 I think?
The forward one doubles as the turn signal and DRL.
I just put clear corners on mine.Since MI allows clear turn signals in the front my DRL are clear. I put led marker lights in the side.
They are clear till you turn them on.They then become amber.
Have a good one

As Fireman says the bulbs in the front of the cluster are dual filament and act as both turn signals and daytime running lights. Its possible for the DRL filament to be blown but the turn signal filament still to be working. Theres a light level sensor that checks light levels and either just brings on the DRLs or pops up the headlights if Twilight Sentinel is selected on. DRLs only come on after engine start with the E Brake off.
Theres a full mod to inhibit the DRLs by pulling relays and fitting a jumper. The easiest way to do it is to pull the A2 fuse on the engine bay fuse panel. You will, however, lose part of the approach light function (the back up lights) when you hit unlock on the key fob. The B/U lights work normally when you select reverse though. Once you pull the fuse the DRLs do not light up.
the daytime lights have been bothering me also and i have been looking for a fix. i think i will put in a swith and inline fuse so i can turn them off.
Thanks for the info, yea the bulbs must have been out.I do like the clear lenses better...looks cleaner.I think I will just leave it like it is now, since it's working correct.I guess the other owner never looked at the front of his car..again Thanks Mark

Be careful, Most states will require a amber side marker in the front corner.
Not sure if you are all clear or you have a amber bulb on the side.
Just a fyi. Some cops can get picky.

Your right guys...
194 for the side amber
3157 for the front DRL's, and blinker.
I installed clear fronts with 3157 Swichback LED's, and side 194 amber LED's. When the car is off everything is clear. In the day time, only the front amber Switchback LED DRL's are on. At night the Switchback LED DRL's change to a bright white like my HID fogs and lows. . Also at night the side light lights up in amber.
Looks bad azz at night with the HID lows, HID fogs, and the white LED's in the DRL's !
