Yes - it has been problematic ever since the "upgrade". My guess is the database serevr is the cause for the slowdowns, as it appears the webserver is quite quick to respond.
I actually send an e-mail mine has been very slow to say the least , i keep thinking its my sons x-box live thats making it this slow, thanks for the clear up answer
also having problems with account. If I browse away from the site, the next time I come back I have to login again.
Everytime.
it worked fine two days ago and nothing has changed on my computer. Other sites remember my userid and password for them. Something with the cookie or the authentication feature of the site.
Since the upgrades, I have noticed a few bugs that still need to be worked out. Forum is really slow to load or even not load many times.
I'm sure they will get it figured out eventually.
^^ Is that a thread explaining why things re slow to load? I couldn;t tell because that thread won't load for me
No, its called the Help Forum which is where all of these threads are going to end up or get locked.
And this was posted yesterday.
The tech folks are aware of the current performance issues on the site. They report it appears to be a network issue and is affecting all IB sites, not just Corvetteforum. It is unrelated to the vBulletin upgrade, but has become a distraction to the work that was being done on the bug list. Updates as they become available.
At the top of every forum is this "announcement" from savewave...08/13/08
System issues

Doesnt help when pretty much anythign outside of the first thread hit when you visit the site is slow.
A message on the homepage. instead of a link to a message would be the appropriate response.
For a "PaySite" the quality of service has gone down the tubes. An there hae been a few "upgrades" in the last months.
This kind of performance degradation is a nono on a for profit site - when CF was a "homegrown" forum it might have been acceptable, but not now.
Except that "announcement" forum was one of those that failed to load for me almost everytime.
Its no good burying a "page loading error" explanation in a page that needs to be loaded
orta like asking people to phone in if their telephone stops working
I posted the "message" for you and its not a pay site. I dont pay to be on this forum. What you paid for was to be a supporting member, not to join this forum. If you dont like it then dont come on here.

And paying to be a supporting member makes it a pay site.
Why are people so quick with the "if you dont like it then leave" mentality?
I guess we just need to put up with nonsense performance because "no-one is forcing us to be here"...
