You certainly don't hear, "Oh, look at that Nissan", or "Oh, look at that Toyota", but you will get that with the Corvette. One of the few cars on the road today, that can elicite that response, no matter what year it is. If no response, it'll still get a glance. It seems the wow factor will always be associated with this car.
The uninitiated will always be ignorant and that's just the way it is. Enjoy your Corvette.
I left a comment, copied below, on there specifically for #17....i believe its pronounced do-maas
Way to go comment number 17 and add to the perception that german sports car drivers are snooty idiots who dont know jack about cars. The M3 is an awesome car, and id love to have an e46...even though its nowhere near as fun to drive as my C5 ZO6. Last time i checked BMW just beefed up the M3 and threw a V8 in it and gave it a much louder exhaust to help with your 4 inches of insecurity. and yes, that sure as hell is a supercharger on display...you gonna start bashing ferrari, maker of some of the most beautiful machines on earth, for displaying their works of art?...of course you probably have no idea what im talking about

I went back to that site and it isn't showing this comment, or the previous comment I left. i wonder if they weren't "approved" for some reason.
23. RE: 2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1 Test Drive With Behind-the-Scenes Video!
Oh GREAT. Yet another dream for the gold-chain-highschool-prowling car club of America. I just can't WAIT to see all the tacky louvers glued on! Or watch some person brag about how they switched out bodyscrews with chrome ones. Can you believe it? Now, don't get me wrong... Corvette has been an awesome beast ever since it was saved in 1997... It's the owners that bring the ire of the car community. It's the people wearing CORVETTE shirts and CORVETTE watches hoping that someone will ask them about their CORVETTE. It's the balding guy that paints his engine bay. The little bits of chrome glued all over the car. CORVETTE would be a great car, if it wasn't for the CORVETTE LIFESTYLE, and that, friends, is why I can never own one

Quote: In the age of limited natural resources, high gas prices, and concern for safety, this car is out of sync. Buying this car for sport is like saying an M-16 is the ideal weapon for home protection. Barbaric! Reply: ***
lol...i thought this was somehow reposted from an earlier comment...until I got to the end
Corvettes are the gate keepers of the supercar club,............it is the all around athlete that you have to get by to be considered a real supercar. It sets the standard of the best bang for the buck sports car in the world.........Still....case in point,......a base C6 is incredible for the money...........but a ZR1 is a world beater.
Nissan GTRs are also great,..........and are very fast.......good luck finding one for anywhere near MRSP for a while.......But I have owned an all wheel drive twin turbo japanese car that was also the fastest in its day (1991 Dodge Stealth RT)............and although very competent and quick,.........it lacked the viseral punch and pleasure of running through the gears in the Corvette the V8 is music...........the GTR is fast but no manual ? And you cant spin the tires for a little low traction fun ?
Anyone that thinks 3 seconds difference at the Nurburgring isnt a significant margin,... has never been to a track or behind the wheel of any sports car. That is like an hour in race time. The Corvette spanked the Nissan this time.........the lowest time will continue to change hands.

Well said.
On a side note, I have 2 VR4's, 92 and 99. While they are a lot of fun, they take a back seat to the Corvette

I really liked mine, big fast (mid 13s) and it would track like it had suction cups,...........but the steering was disconnected and the shifter was clunky compared to the Corvette,...........early state of the art efforts in an AWD platform with the engine pointing in the wrong direction.
Mark my words, they will be collector items..............astounding for the time,........it would smoke a C4.

99 percent of the people posting don't own a sports car and have no idea about the great HP, gas mileage, comfort, looks, at half the price or less of a ferrari or aston martin

The Corvette has been around since 1953. It never has been a car for everyone, and never will be. But it is the car for us and no one can take that away. Enjoy your dream machine and I'll enjoy mine....

It's just as well...these are the same people that sholdn't own a Corvette anyway.
