BBK - decisions, decisions...
Originally I was just going to put on a C6Z06 brake upgrade kit with Steel braided lines - $1850 parts only.
I really like the big red CORVETTE calipers but don't like the left sided only rotors and the added weight.
Then I thought, upgrade at least the front rotors with StopTech Aerorotors and save some weight upfront (they claim 8 lbs. per side) - $2500 parts only. Don't like the idea of stock rotors in back so would probably add about another $200 to upgrade the rear rotors with DBA 4000 series rotors ($2700 parts only total).
Then I think, well why not upgrade with StopTech front calipers/rotors and C6Z06 calipers/rotors in back - $3800 parts only. Don't like the idea of possibly unbalancing the brake bias.
Then I think, well why not upgrade with a complete 4 wheel StopTech Big Brake kit - $5600 parts only. Afraid I may have to eventually upgrade the Master Cylinder also; and don't like the idea of spending that kind of money after just spending $4200 on wheels to accommodate a BBK.
So now I come back to C6Z06 calipers, DBA 4000 series rotors, steel braided lines and Hawk HPS pads all the way around - $2160 parts only. And then I start thinking why not save a few pounds up front and upgrade to DBA 5000 series two piece rotors up front - $2700...here I go again

My car is a 98% daily driver and is tracked about a half dozen or so times a year. I am putting down well over 500hp to the rear wheels and my brakes are a weak link on the track so I have to do something (and my rear rotors are shot).
I'm going to pull the trigger on Monday and order something, and right now I'm leaning towards the C6Z06 calipers with DBA 4000 series rotors all around.
Any thoughts to help clear things up would be greatly appreciated
also, i think this is in the wrong section. you should prob have put this in the road race section, or perf. results.
The C6 pads are expensive. Your cheapest fix is better brake pads and cheap NAPA rotors as road racing will chew up any rotor that use except for maybe the new ZR1 Carbon Ceramic set-up which will set you back like $7,500 bucks.
Not a bad deal when you take into account the cost of rotors, brake pads and your time to constantly repair.
The StopTech BBK is designed to work with the Corvette MC. so no problem there.
Would still need to sets of brake pads, one set for the street and one set for the track
Just get some new PBR C5 calipers, racing brake pads, the Stock brakes are far better then ppl give them credit for.
