Does the door panel have to be removed to replace the drivers door sub? I am hoping that I can just remove the grill itself, and save myself some time. If not how hard it is to remove the panel without messing it up? Thanks guys!
That speaker is like a whole unit if I remember correctly. You will have to use an adapter plate to put aftermarket mids or the like back in there. Check over in the audio / electronics board. those folks will know
I know i was able to disconnect the small sub with just removing the grill, I thought i remember it looking like I could just unscrew the 8" sub and pull it through the grill.
Don't quote me on that though, just seeing if anyone else did it!

Hmm weird, I got the grill off and on just fine! Maybe I got lucky lol...
You might have got it off ok, but the tabs on the grill that hold it on, have to be pushed through the door panel and bent over from the back side, I don't know how you can do this with the door panel in place. If you just pushed them through the slots in the door panel and didn't bend them over from the back side, they won't be tight and will rattle.
