Denny there are so many choices to go with!
You will only loose the radio information (Clock etc)
Look for a battery within your budget, I have a Costco battery in mine and it has lasted for a few years so far - an no problems!
Thanks,Matt

Good old Delco battery, The Optimas are over priced.
Make sure your radio isn't in AntiTheft mode on, If it is you will need the code if lost power for too long. Everything else is easy to correct.

The red light on the radio will flash when the key is out.
Here is a link on how to turn the antitheft on and off.

If your lite by the vol isn't flashing when the key is out of the ign your anti-theft is off.

Could lose clock setting and radio could get locked if theftlock is set. I had an Optima Red Top in mine for over 6 years - always served me well.

My battery conditioner has a option to plug it into the cigarette lighter to charge the battery.
You can plug it in and remove the battery and not loose any memory.
Just be careful with the positive cable when changing the battery.
It will be charged from the battery conditioner being plugged into a cig lighter .
Have a good one

The trouble is Bill, quite a few of our fellow members are sitting on the old AC Delco batteries that may leak
Hopefully, there are enough posts about the dangers of the old batteries to make people change them before they leak on the BCM.

Agreed, But the OP was asking what to buy and the other guy that posted and said the Delcos leak and that is not true if the OP wants a new battery. I don't think the OP is going to buy an old battery.
