I have never even thought about going to accessory before starting.....I always go straight to start and all the electronics always do what they should.
The same thing has happened (once) for me when I went quickly to the start position. I pause for a half second now, before going on to "start." I don't wait for the gauges and panel to go through their whole "song and dance"----just long enough to see they've started to do their thing.

That's what I do, I've never had a problem before.
You should be able to just start it in one shot. I have no problems with mine when I do it that way. Although I do sometimes just turn the key to acc first then to start. Works well either way. Try it again a few times see what happens, if it still does it get the ignition key checked.
