Convert convertible to a hardtop
I am looking at this car that is all stripped down but it’s a convertible and I want a hardtop. If I get the car I am going to put a full cage and make a street/strip car out of it. My questions is: Would it be easier to make this car an FRC or a regular hardtop? I was not sure if the rear supports could stay/work for an FRC. The frame and some parts are there but not much. Has anyone ever done this? Sorry if it’s a stupid question, I have a C6 and know nothing about a C5. I hate to see it go to waste. I can get it real cheap. Title is good too. Thanks

If you made it an FRC, you would use the same trunk lid and hinges. Stripping out all of the covertible top stuff would leave you with the space filled by the FRC top. You would have to modify the windshield - not a big deal. The real concern is that FRC's and Coupes have a roll bar. Don't know how that fastens in. Also don't know if you would need it to hold the top if you're putting in a full roll cage. Could be a fun project.
BTW Caravaggio Corvettes in Canada sells a package to convert an FRC to a Targa. I did it. You might consider this as well.
GOOD LUCK! Be sure and post the results.

The only problem with that is its not nhra legal with swingout door bars.
You can only go 10.0 with them.

For those of you that don't know,,Gary's (GB VETTE started life as a vert. Those guys in Va Beach never seem to leave the stock top configuration in place...
