Default C6 actions confusing

I know we've beat it to death, but I can't for the life of me understand what's going on with the "C6 group."
My wife and I just returned from a trip to the smokey mountains where we literally saw DOZENS and DOZENS of Vettes from every generation but the C1. Having own Vettes for almost 30 years, I got to experience the time when the "wave" was "mandatory" for Vette owners! Even if I am walking, I still wave at any Vette I see. This past week, 99% of the C2-C5's waved either 1st, or after I did Of the 8-10 C6 guys, ONE GUY waved.
Now I may be wrong in assuming, but I would think that a lot of the C6 guys are former C5 owners, so they would know the "rules of the game" concerning waving, but I continue to be confused by it all.
I'm beginning to lose patience!!

It's okay. If they wave, cool, if not oh well.

If they chose not to wave, then it's their loss. Keep on doing your part - there are still plenty of Vette owners out there that want to keep the tradition alive.

I bet this has gone on for every new generation of Corvette. The C6 guys may also be new Vette owners and not know about the wave. I had no clue about the wave before I got my Vette. Who knows why they didn't wave. Is it because they are all jerks that think they are better than everyone else? I doubt it as there are butt holes in every group. I've met a lot of good people in C6's and have been ignored by people in C5's too.

The war in the middle east, nut job heads of state in Russia, Korea, Iran and Venezuela, the economy and the bailout, USA hurricane victims still w/o power, the price of fuel, food, medical care and housing...

...the wave puts it all into perspective...

There are Corvette enthusists and there are Corvette owners. Owners get rid of their cars after a short time period and don't understand nor care about the life style.

I see C6s all the time and always give a wave but rarely if ever get a wave back. They either do not care or don't know about the wave. I will just keep waving and hope they catch on.

We've had vetts for 6 yr. always waved and about 90% of the time got one back. Last week I bought a Jeep Wrangler, never had one before. All the sudden I notice that all Jeeps wave at me. So does that mean everyone waves at their respective makes? All Buicks wave at Buicks!!

For some reason this seems to be extremely insignificant in the grand scheme of life.

I have found, that it's not year of Corvette that they are driving that decides if they wave or not. Round here I get waves from all models - C1 - C6. I have also been next to a C5 and they did not even look over and if they did and I wave, they just give me that blank Deer in the headlights look.

Like others have said.. some folks are car owners and some are car enthusiasts. I could really care if I get a wave back or not. I'll continue to wave at ever Vette that I see.

Well; That's one opinion; But it is C5 general on the CORVETTE forum.
But then again, maybe if people (including people driving C6s ) were a little more friendly, it might help out in some of the other areas, mentioned above.
People need to just get over themselves and not act so superficial.

It's been that way forever...when I had my first vette (a 61) back in the early 70's, the C3 drivers never waved either!

Doesn't work so good for Nissan Frontiers or Ford Rangers. The rest of 'em must not have a clue .
