Let's put it another way....

How many times do people, especially the ladies, come up to you in the Z and say "Nice Car..."?

Now I pose that question to the Vette owners. How many times do people (the ladies) come up and say "nice car"???

Ok guys, let's hear it!

I think you'll see that the Vette's get more attention. And nothing brings a smile to your face more than having someone acknowledge your ride!

to tell you the truth the attention i get in the z is too much. that is one thing i dont really like although i know driving a flashy car like a vette will be worse. it really becomes a burden when you get harrased by ricers and get girls that only like you because of your car.

That's a heavy insurance payment.

You can call around to different companies, lower your coverages, try and clean up your record with a driver's safety class, move to an area with lower rates or just wait until you get older.

Sorry to hear it's holding you back. Good luck!

In the words of Darth Vader.................The force is strong! Give into the force!

The only cons that I know of is that you'll become OCD when it comes to your Vette! You'll spend money modding your car, you might hurt your neck when walking away from it after parking (turning around to look at it), speeding tickets are possible, and you might even get tired of all of the compliments too! Other than that, it's all good!
This Lifestyle will drag you in, but there is solace in knowing that there are just as many people with the same problem (some are even worse)! Just stay on the Vette 12 step program and you'll be alright (if you attend you Modaholics Anonymous meetings)!

The Great thing about the "Vette Lifestyle" is that it's the only car owner group that I've ever seen (or been in) that waves to each other! It's like being in an exclusive club where the only right of passage is having "America's Sports Car"!

I feel Very Privileged and Blessed by GOD to be part of that club!

Good Luck!

It is pretty cool to have a vette, I wont lie. I have had other sports cars in the past, 5.0 mustang (notchback), a couple camaro's, and the vette is by far the high point right now.

Also because I have been fortunate enough to setup the car like I have always wanted. The vette community is pretty cool as well. I never knew vette guys/gals all waved at each other till I had one. People range from young guys like me, to older fella's in their 60's+.

If life allows it, from here on out I'll always have a vette in the garage. Hopefully as I get older I'll be able to pick up an exotic or two, but I'll always have a vette.

You'll get harrased by ricers whether you drive a Corvette or an RX-8. That's just what they do, so as long as you drive a sports car get used to that. Getting girls just because they like your car is great for me because I only want them for one reason too LOL. Maybe that will change when I grow up LOL.

On the insurance thing... I use American Family. I have my car as my secondary driver and it's only 90 bucks a month. That's how you do it.

On the "whether or not" you should buy one... I have had two C5's and never looked back. I had a 99 FRC for five years and now have a 00 coupe. I like the FRC a little better and may sell this one and pick up an 01 or newer Z06. My point is, once you have a vette it changes your DNA forever. I never wanted a vette til mom bought one and I got to drive it...it was all down hill from there. You can't imagine how you get treated when you have a vette. Most people go their whole lives wishing they could afford one. So when you get one you are someone they tend to look up to. But as I said, once you own one once, you'll own one forever.....

That's just a brief "my .02". I could go on and on about how great it is to have a vette....

Good luck I hope you take the leap!!!

I go through State Farm and my insurance is only $118 a month as my only car. It went down dramatically when I turned 25, from $187.

This may not be a good comparison, but i have 2 TT 3000GTs. I love them both but when determining which car to drive, the C5 is my go-to car everytime. Fortunately I have not had to sell them, but if I had to sell something, it wouldn't be the C5
