'pilot, you give up on driving yours for the year? I'm still trying to scrape every last chance I can to get mine out before the the winter really sets in. Took a drive out Eagle River road last night, car really runs well when it's 25 degrees out.
Your interior is looking great. Love the two-tone.

Good luck.
I did the wife's this last winter, and it really wasn't that bad.
The hardest part was finding the stuff I wanted, and waiting for it to arrive.
I gutted the dirty gray interior and put in black carpet painted console & dash pieces, and white seats & trim.

That looks fantastic! That certainly is unique. Very cool! I was happy knowing that I will have one of the only Z06's with a black/oak combo, but yours takes the cake!
In my case, I didn't have to wait for any parts... I stockpiled them over the summer and had to wait for the install (wanted to wait until driving season was done). Although I still need a few things but for the most part, I've got a big green light.

SOunds like things are a bit better out in ER though. Mike also took his C6 out for a ride the other day, and commented on how the cold air felt like 50 more HP!

UPDATE!!
Tonight I tackled the drivers side swap out. Now the interior is looking a bit more complete (minus seats) especially since I put the consoles back on, as well as the new two-tone shift boot.

Thanks! I got nearly all the interior pieces from fellow member rcs128, who went the opposite direction with his interior. The leather trim pieces (boots, door handle wraps, etc) came as part of a free kit from the purchase of leather seat covers from Corvette Motorsports (NTRBL33 and DavzC5 here on the forum).
Once I get the drivers door panel swapped, I'll move to recovering the seats.

It's going to be unique for sure. You might consider putting some protective clear mats over the oak floor mats. I have a buddy who just bought a black '08 Z51 coupe with the oak interior. His carpets already look like a coal miner drives the car...
Hi There:
Great looking mod! Keep or write down the steps as you go along.Others will be interested in a step by step process & the tools you used when completed.(afraid of breaking the plastic parts at removal.) I myself have the same plan only in t/red & black.
Thanks for the great pictures.

Update, Sunday Oct 26 2008:
Well I ran into some snags that have halted my progress.
First, some glove box issues. The oak glove box I have came from an early-year C5, and does not have the indent to place my airbag cutoff switch. So, I need a new(er) oak glovebox.
Also, I want to take out the lock cylinder on my black glove box and put that into the oak glove box. Problem is, I can't seem to remove the cylinder from the latch assembly. I'd like to still be able to lock my glovebox as needed. Will take both latches to a locksmith tomorrow and see if anything can be done.
Next issue is with my new seat skins. Or rather, installation of them. They are sport seat skins. I converted over from Z06 seats. As such, I don't have any of the 12 required retainer clips, that keep the halo portion of the skins attached to the seat frames. Stealership wants $5.42 for EACH clip!!! Made me throw up a little in my mouth. So obviously I'm seeking more favorable procurement opportunities for these parts. So, my seat progress is at a standstill for now.
No new pictures at this time! She sits as she was last week.

Put key in and turn to lock postion. Get an awl or ice pick and you'll see a small opening on the side of the lock.
Take awl and press down into the opening (it's spring loaded) then turn the key to the unlocked position while holding down the spring. Then slide out awl and then wiggle lock out.

To get your lock cylinder out of the glove box you do the following;
Put key in and turn to lock postion. Get an awl or ice pick and you'll see a small opening on the side of the lock.
Take awl and press down into the opening (it's spring loaded) then turn the key to the unlocked position while holding down the spring. Then slide out awl and then wiggle lock out.

We get a few days of them every year and like the interior change you are doing
