Default SWAY BAR PROBLEMS! Anyone!

Hey guys I am installing C6Z51 Sway bars, 6.5 hours later I have the back ones done but the fronts are IMPOSSIBLE! The left side is in but the right wont go in the hole for the end link it forces the insulater down 2 inches and it wont mount. I know 90% that my sway is going in right and I didnt put the endlinks on backwards. Does anyone have pics of the endlinks and swaybar when installed PLEASE TELL ME SOMEONE OUT THERE CAN HELP ME!

What year is your car...what year are the bars for..

IM betting that if non of the above are the culprits then you've got the bar backwards or upside down

Well I had one tire on a curb and the passenger side of the tire on the ground I believe that was the issue because I got it on two jacks today and leveled it out and the bar went on fine except my passenger side bracket had one nut the stripped the threads so that worries me.

I changed both sways, and 4 shocks in about 3 hours! I hope you're drinking lots of beer in the process!

Anyway...don't panic...they are a direct fit...take a step back and clear your head. Position the bar freehand to see how it would logically fit first...place it on the ground in that same position...and then start the mounting process.

Just a piece of advice...take pictures with a digital camera before you begin your work.

It'll be well worth the headache when done...you'll love corners!

LOL i was so mad at myself last night because ramps were to big because my car is lowered it kills me that this was the whole reason it wouldnt work, It also didnt help I had to do this all at night. Does anyone think ill have issues with one passenger side bracket bolt being a 1/3 of an inch away from being all the way in, it will be totally stripped if i thread it again and i can tell you it is in firmly so i dont think itll back out.

I wouldn't be comfortable with that myself. I'd remove it...and re-tap the hole.

Are you seriously going to bet the value of your car and possibly your life on that one word?

You might want to take your car to a professional. A bolt sitting out 3/8 of an inch is not torqued and will loosen and eventually fall out.

Chris,

It is good to hear all worked out. Yes, I normally try and have 10 sets of the shocks or so in stock at all times.

Thanks, Gene.
