I'm going to be delving into something I've wanted to play with for a long time, and after a couple of experiments I will either forge ahead or call it quits.
I'm going to be starting to wrap components with Carbon Fiber. I'm NOT talking about hydro-graphics here. I'm talking about real 8.5 oz/sq yard, carbon fiber cloth layered with epoxy, sanded, and cleared, over stock parts. The real deal, short of an actual molded component of course (not even going to try that one).
Hopefully within 1-2 weeks I'll have my first trial done, a set of door handle bezels in aluminized carbon fiber for my own car. Just waiting on cloth and a recently purchased bezel set to come in. After that I'll probably move to a slightly bigger and more contoured piece, and so on and so forth.
Why am I posting this if I haven't already done it? Because I want to see if there is a market for this. If there is, I plan to bring my rock bottom pricing as usual, and of course my high standards of work.
So, how many of you would have interest in reasonably priced wrapped pieces? Just a yay or nay, and maybe a request or two for an idea of what you'd want.
I just saw your results and they look great. Can you wrap anything with it ? I was thinking of other pieces....
Pretty much although I don't want to do any pieces that are too big. What are you thinking of?? If you won't want the cat out of the bag publically, shoot me a PM.
