You will sure be surprised when you put you foot in it. The first time I did it I thought it was going to go across the street, before I could back out. So watch out. You will never regret putting a Kennel Bell on . It not a belt driven turbo!
Well it's running and running well. Man does this thing whine. You know that it's SCed the moment it starts. I was concerned it would sound stock. Not a chance very noticable outside the car inside the car plain loud. My wife is going to hate it!!
Many test runs and help from others only one issue remains........BELT SLIP............I am using the 3.5 inch pulley so I think I am around 10-14 psi boost. I have used the modified belt routing configuration and have a new C6 tensioner. The slip occurs only under hard throttle when the engine shifts. Then it sqeals for a brief second. Sounds bad and my concern is on my late night tuning sessions in 20 degree weather that I will shread a belt and be stuck. I will never be able to drive the car at WOT because of this. Any ideas of KB/SC owners is appreciated. I was thinking about the new tensioner offered by Jeff at Ameican HP. Aready spent money for the new C6 tensioner so just don't want to waste anymore money if that one will not fix the problem

Congrats........
I've been following your thread and glad you're up & running.
I'm only running 7.5 lbs boost so I have not had any belt slippage problems. I would go with Jeff's tensioner. He's done more testing on the KB than most and definitely at higher boost levels.
I'd give him a call (keep trying he can be hard to get a hold of), and see what he suggests. He won't steer you wrong.
How do you have the belt wrapped? Its a little different and is the cause of most belt slip issues. Also grab the tensioner from Jeff. Although it seems like VA Speed did a good job, Ed at The HP Factory is only 10 minutes from VA Speed and he has worked on two high HP Kenne Bell cars; mine and Andrews. He is in the middle of building me a new 403 which will be done in a few weeks. If you come down to VA Speed again let me know. I live about 3 minutes from there and would love to check out the car.
I skipped around the thread but are you running a 6 or 8 rib? Anything more than 10psi needs the 8rib. When I first got my Kenne Bell I was running 8# and the 6rib was fine. I then started playing with the pulley setups and when I hit 12 I got belt slip. After going to the 8rib I took the car to 20# with no slip.
Yelp it's the six rib belt and it slipped at lower boost pulley 3.75 inch = 9-10 lbs just as much as at the 3.5 inch pulley= 11-12 lbs. I think I will grap the tensioner from Jeff as this seems the way to go. He always answers my calls and is always been helpful. I will take my car back to VA Speed in May and will give you a call obxfunn. Thanks again guys
Yes it is. I am glad you noticed. Last night I was going 20 mph in 2nd gear and nailed it. Ever see a vette spin tires from 20 to 60 mph then get sideways when I hit 3rd at about 75mph. Scared the crap out of me. Not a toy, not a toy , not a toy that's is what I keep saying to myself
Brian, glad to see your car is running and doing it well!!!! ENJOY your efforts my friend! Now I just have to save up some money and swap my maggie for your setup!
