Got an '02 with a Procharger, 6spd. Took a cruise a while back to Flagstaff. Filled up in Flagstaff drove back home, (over 150 miles) got almost 33 MPG...not bad for having 508 HP at the rear wheels.
My computer always shows about 1-2 mpg better than I actually get. I wonder if that's somehow intentional on GMs part.

An old habit from the old days,,I check the mileage every fill up(the actual math),,and every time it's about 1.5 to 1.7 below what the DIC indicates. If I stopped after the first click off at the pump it might be a little closer,, but I give it a few more squeezes with the fill nozzle and fill it pretty tight(as I always do some more driving after fill ups)
That's about what I average with my 6-speed manual, 3.42's. I don't think anyone believes me though.
Hell, at 70 MPH I'm only pulling about 1500 RPM's.
My c5 is loafing at highway speeds.
I picked up 29.3mpg driving 80-85 to Los Angeles back in May with a brief run up big speeds to get around a jerk in a toyota pick-up pulling a trailer.
Drove 350 miles round trip and still had about a quarter of a tank of gas left.

You may be onto something. The DIC would be set to the factory recommended fill level.
Took a nice road trip last July, from Hamilton to Charlottown P.E.I., about 2,400 miles round trip, hammer down when I could, mostly about 76 mph with the cruise on, averaged 33.4 mpg for the round... stock '02 vert, A4, 2.73 gear, Blackwing and catback....great economy cars, these vettes....
I try to keep the camera within reach when on long trips because sometimes the car will really amaze me.
took this one just this past fall, first trip across VA when I didn't need the AC anymore, about 150-200mi since the last reset on this one, I don't remember exactly how far, but I don't even both taking a pic if I haven't been at least a couple hours since last reset. I'm not sure, but I think I found one of the few stations in Roanoke that sells 100% gasoline rather than that E10 crap, that I'm sure is what bridged the gap from the 33 that I usually see when I drive conservatively
I've gotten some impressive MPGs, so far this one is the best! and there are some stop lights, low speed limits and even a few spirited accelerations from those stoplights accounted for in this!
