I have a 2000 C5 with the dreaded dual HVAC. Lately, it has become haunted and starts doing things all on its own. Modes switch, AC activates, cant manually switch modes and other weird things. Did a forum search and didnt see anything like this. Is the head unit toast?

I hear there's a guy that could fix your unit for less than $50, he sends you a fixed unit and you send him yours. Since he's not a vendor I won't post the seller's info, but you can PM me - or get a priest
I see you're in Utah. Did the temperatures drop recently?
Dont forget below 35 degrees the unit wont operate in AC mode. Are you getting a flashing AC light?
The air conditioning does not operate at temperatures below approximately 35F to 40F (2C to 4C). The light on the A/C button will flash if
pressed when air conditioning is not available.
It should come back up in the last mode it was shut down in. The AC will run automatically to dehumidify the cabin if >35 degrees.
Its worth a re read of the owners manual because its smarter than it seems. HTH
