Guys,
I pulled my windshield washer fluid tank out the other day to paint it. I noticed that there's another electrical connection on the bottom other than the white one that you can see from the top.
My sprayer hasn't worked for awhile and I was just curious as to what the problem could be...there's been no codes.
The fluid level still reads low and full and everything but the sprayer doesn't work when I hit the button on the end of the wiper stalk??
well you have the switch that you found.
there is also a little pump on the reservoir that you need to test. just unplug the hose that goes to the wipers and hit the button to turn it on. if it does not work check to be sure it has power with a meter. it if does pump reattach the hose and pull the hose connection at the washer jet and recheck flow. i get plugged washer jets all the time. the simple fix it to run a piece of fine wire down the jet nozzle to open it up and clean it.
Clean the nozzles yourself! When my car went in for it's inspection, the washer didn't work because the nozzles were clogged. Do you know how much the stealership charges to clean the nozzles? Just over $50! What a bunch of jerks.
The push switch in the wand tends to be problematic....Mine is old enough that I have to replace the pump AND the ridiculously expensive control wand. Never had a clogged nozzle...

The White one you see from the top is your level sensor. The other connector that you noticed connects to the underside of the tank to the washer pump. If it is disconnected from the pump, remove the tank again and reconnect it and it probably will start working again.
Thanks so much for all the ideas!! I'll definitely get that thing taken car of this Tuesday as that's my next day off. I already tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. I'll check the fuse first , then try running a little wire up and cleaning the lines, then pull the tank back off and check the pump with a meter....if all that doesn't fix it, I'll mess with replacing the stalk or I might just leave it broken lol...I don't really use the things unless I'm on a really long trip.
What am I checking for with a meter on the pump? Is is a DC signal or resistance?
Oh and what's the switch that I found? Is there a little pump that's inside of the tank that I didn't see and also the little switch that's on the outside on the bottom?
