Sorry to breath life back into this topic. My car has had the Recall and the Recall to the recall performed. When the key is turned on or off, the lock motor fires in either direction, but no actual physical lock takes place. Now occasionally, the lock motor refuses to fire.
The dealer has replaced the ignition switch, but that is not resolving it. Any ideas? Do I need a new Column lock motor?
OT: If I buy another C5 used, can I get a GMPP warrantee for it?
Second to that, how long is a typical GMPP because my dealer says "no mas" to mine after 65,000 miles.
I am not getting the Service Column Lock message on the display. Thanks for the tip. I had not thought about the fact that the computer would say if it had a Col Lock issue. Must be something else.
If you have the K-Harness it dosnt matter if the column lock kicks in or out. As long as the relay is good in the harness everything will be fine. You can even unhook the the part of the harness that goes into the lock............
