I don't want to appear that I am totally dumping on Good year for this. Part of the issue is we have been sold a bill of goods by all tire manufactures on these 60,000 mile tire life. The only way to get that is to use a hard rubber compound under the softer top surface. I comes on gradually so we tend not ot notice. Untill one day we say gawd these tires are noisy and get them replaced.
