Well folks. I just wanted to give some kudos to a generous fellow that is always willing to help us less skillful forum members when a gremlin shows up in the beloved Vette
I had to attempt the reading of the DIC for DTC's for the first time. Why? Because my C5 all of a sudden had this gawd awful idle(200 rpm). So I dropped Bill a line explaining how the idle freaked me out and I just shut it off and ran inside hoping the Vette fairy would come make it go away That's what us less skillful forum folks do ya know.
So he gets back to me and tells me to check for any leaks up the air box through the air bridge and MAF... I know I know to any of you who have had this happen it's 101. Remember though I ran inside so I hadn't thought to get under the hood yet. I get under the hood and sure nuff there is a clamp loose at the top of the bridge and the bridge was off to the side a bit.
Aside from solving my problem Bill showed me the importance of slowing down, taking a deep breath and havin a looksie! Funny how I can do all those things when a house is burning but when it comes to the vette making painful to the ear sounds... It's panic time!
Thanks so much Bill! May your driveway repel snow all winter!
I had the same problem last year, on a road trip of course. I was cruisin' down the highway and put clutch in and the car died, upon inspection I found the air bridge to be the culprit.

During my first time troubleshooting an issue on my car, his advice and instruction gave me the confidence to do the work myself and it ended up saving me $1100! Thanks Bill!
I had a little nothing gremlin in my car, and bill PMd me with his number to call and walked me through the issue. We spent more time on the phone BS about our jobs.
He's a quality man !
I still havent fixed my start not start issue because after enough turns of the keys and push the clutch in and out, it catches and starts still.
When it doesnt, Ill look to fix it
Ive made progress, since moving to tampa, I keep the volt meter in the car now.
And T.......you a funny **** man!
Cool write up bruddah.
Thanks buddy! Hope you had a great holiday I just had to sing praise as Bill seems like a busy guy but never seems to get fussy about the "stupid" questions(speakin for myself).
From the looks of it my suspicions were right on as I am obviously nowhere near the only one whose angst he has
and a big atta boy and thank you from me too!!!Gave me some valuable coaching when my K harness gave up and stranded me. Helped me with my CLB install (Thanks to ALL the guys that pitched in and sent helpful tips!!!)The Forum rocks

If Bill had a dollar every time he's helped someone out of a jam, he would be able to pay cash for a ZR1. A thoughful and giving person is as rare as a "hen's tooth". We are lucky.....
VACATION???? What the hell is that??? Corvettes don't get greasy! Thats just war paint!
Troubleshooting C5 is my therapy! Some people do crossword puzzles or sudaco. I troubleshoot.
Thanks for all the complements!
Bill
And here I thought installing an X Pipe in the snow was your cure for the Rat Race blues?????
I echo everyone's comments as well, Bill you ARE a true enthusiast!! When ever you're ready to update your interior lights to LEDs it's on me for all the time and work you put in to helping your fellow Vette owners!
I've not "used" any of Bill's fixes or recomendations yet but I have "read" much of his info regarding our babies. I know I will indeed use some of that info to "fix" my girl when the time comes!! Thanks in advance Bill!!
