Default Shifter questions

I'm trying to decide on which shifter to go with for my 02 Z. Both of my choices are for used units. The first one I'm looking at is a B&M Ripper. The second one I'm considering is a C6 shifter. Since so many have already had one, I imagine the B&M is a pretty straight forward swap. The questions I have are, will the C5Z **** and factory boot work with the C6 version? Also, is there a difference between the base C6 and C6Z06 shifters?
TIA

The base of all the shifters is the same, except the Z06 shifters have metal bushings where they mount to the tunnel instead of rubber.
The C5 **** will not fit a C6.. the C5 has threads on the shaft, the C6 uses a set screw, and I think the shaft is a different diameter.
I have had a Hurst for 5 years, and of course, think it is the best.

I have had both and prefer the c6z shifter over the B&M. For the C6 shifter you need the shifter and the ball, I bought the redline goods shift boot to go with the shifter aswell.

I also have had both. I would say to go with the C6 shifter. Plus I modified my stock shift boot to work, and it is not hard to do at all. You will like how it shift.

I have the c6 shifter and I think it's a good mix between the aftermarket short throw and the standard shifter.

I modified my stock boot to fit the shifter.

At the tip of your boot were it meats the shift ****. It is bent over alittle bit. You have to unbend it. Then you push the c6 **** from the top outside to the bottom. So it will look like the **** is in side the boot. Slide it over the c6 post and screw it in. Slide the rest of the boot down and it snaps back in to the console. Here is a link on istall for a c6 shifter. Hope it helps.

Save your money and go for the delrin ****. 30 bucks and it lowers the shifter height by over an inch. The car shifts tons better.

If you tried it and did not like it then go for the shifter. It was just a suggestion. I had a delrin in my other Z06, and I just ordered one for this Z06. Good luck.

I love the derlin ****. I wasn't sure if I would or not, but it is great. I like pushing to upshift instead of pulling.

Stock Z **** was

Also, I never hear of people suggesting to remove the demon key by using an open-ended wrench and using it as a lever to remove it (this is how I did it). Everyone says to pull it out with plyers, but I found the lever method easier. If you have a small enough open-ended wrench you can get it right in the slot on the left or right side of the demon key.

That one more reason for the C6 shifter, NO MORE DEMON KEY!!
I switched from the Hurst to the C6 Z06, and love it.
