After 4 great years hanging out with the C4 crowd, I've decided to make my move:
I've been wanting a C5 for a while and picked this one up today (pictures are at owner's house from a few months ago). Phenomenal condition inside and out, and well-priced.
The Onyx C4 was my first Vette and I've enjoyed all 35K miles. However, based on 4 hours today behind the wheel of the Argent C5, I now know it's time to move on. This thing is VERY FAST (only mods are Callaway intake, Corsa Exhaust, and custom tune but OMFG), TIGHT as a drum, and STOPS on a dime. Compared with my '93 I saw about 10% better MPG, and my better half (who spent most of the 4 hours with me) also approved because getting in and out is MUCH easier.
There are a few gremlins to deal with (slightly rocking seats, bad fuel gauge and needs key fob), I still need to find a buyer for Onyx, and I guess I gotta change my handle -- but all that can wait for tomorrow. Tonight I'll sleep with a big smile...
Hi Fred. Congtas indeed I LOVE the black rims and the color my friend. I sure expect this to be at our Jan. Meeting..lol. Congrats..can't wait to see her..
The rocking seat and fuel gauge issues are well known and easy to fix. For the fuel gauge try a few bottles of Techron in the tank. Its caused by sulfur build up on the sensor and that should clean it up
Congrats!
You got yourself a Beauty there.
I'm a C-2 junkie, but after buying my wife her C-5 convt., I Love it.
The performance, handling and styling are awesome. She gave up a 60 for the C-5 and couldn't be happier.
It's a good looking ride! Welcome to the C5 forums. I too moved up from a C4 and although I loved it dearly, there is little comparison between C4 and C5... as you know!
