Default GMSPO disk cd

Hi.... I purchased a CD off a member early this year, can't remember who.
I can't get into the service and parts area in the disk.
Anyone have an idea how to open it up?

TIA

Is it the ESi Techline program? If so mine came on 7 disks and had to be installed ina very specific way. Maybe its a DVD with all the files on one disk? You may have to dump them all onto CDs to make it load properly.

Default Disk....

The files are all on 1 disk. I think I opened it up once when I received it, but that was earlier this year.
I can't remember how to do it now......................

If it came on DVD it's probably the same one I have.

Follow the instructions exactly as given and it should install with no problem.

You cannot see or do anything on the DVD itself except start the install process, the software has to be installed to your PC before it can be used.

If you find out let me know as well please!! It works great on my old computer but I can't remember how to install it on my new laptop and I can't find the instructions that came with it. I know it had VERY specific steps to follow. If anybody can help please either PM on here or email to botch316@inbox.com

Ok, not to hijack, but I don't want to make a duplicate thread either. I am installing it as we speak, but here is my problem:

I uninstalled the J2RE just like it said.

Installed the SI-Application.

Click on it and the correct screen comes up telling me to install SI-Data.

I extract and go to install SI-Data but halfway through I get an error saying "permission denied."

If I uninstall J2RE and install the SI-Data, then it works. But then the SI-Application doesn't work, and even re-installing J2RE won't make the SI-Application work, so I am kind of in a catch-22.

Anyone?

And I am very computer literate, in fact that is what I do for a living! But this has me stumped.

XP or Vista?

I believe in Vista you have to run it in compatibility mode.

I put that package on the XP machine in my garage - and it took me 7 hours to get it up and running.... I found that I had to not only shut off all of the spyware and anti virus software, I also needed to go into the services (under computer management) and physically stop all of those services. Once I did all that I managed to get the installation completed and got the thing running, it works like a charm.

Did you close any and all anti-virus and spam type monitoring programs while installing?

You do have ADMIN rights, correct?

Other than that I'd try wiping the entire application and data and starting again from scratch.

I'm running XP SP2 and it installed with no problems at all. It's always possible that there is a corrupted file on the DVD.

I am running SP3 so maybe there is a difference there. Of course I have admin rights. And I have disabled/stopped any services that would mess it up.

Hmm...

You're at the point where I would get a cold beer and just stare at the #$%#$% thing for a few minutes.

Any chance something has one of the files locked? I've found that XP doesn't always release files in a timely manner.

im running Windows XP with SP3 and my DVD installed with no issues...

make sure you disable any antivirus/firewall software before installing...

i have not had any problems!

try this:

click Start > Run > type msconfig, hit enter

uncheck any startup programs you don't need, you "should" only have your firewall/antivirus loading at startup here...

also, go to Start > Run > type temp, hit enter

delete everything in this folder...

restart the computer...

try the installation again...

hope this helps!

Ok, none of the above worked. But here is what I did to get it to work:

Removed my J2RE App that I already had installed.

Installed SI-Application (includes J2RE).

Removed J2RE.

Installed SI-Data.

Removed SI-Application.

Re-Installed SI-Application (with J2RE).

Installed SI-Update.

Viola, it worked. Veriy specific instructions be damned.

I have installed it on 3 computers with no problems. BUt you must follow the directions exactly. Remove Java from your computer, remove and earlier attempts. Turn off ALL programs running the background, antivirus, antispyware, firewalls, etc. Also, on the DVD there is a video that explains the installation process. Here are the instructions: (If you want a PDF copy, email me at captras@yahoo.com)

Did you use all the default directories and install everything on drive "C:\"?

Some application are touchy about where they are installed.
