matte paint still needs a clear coat to protect it, just not a gloss clear coat. i personally am not a huge fan of the look, and feel that it has been getting played out a lot on cars trying to be "stealth".
that being said, i think it can still look kinda cool on some cars.

Me ? Mad? That's one thing that internet forums are lacking and that is tone. You can tell the other persons tone , for the most part anyways. I have no problem with anyone trying to clearify or correct me sincerly. That is one major plus for this forum is that 99% of responders seem to be genuine about wanting to help and most don't wear the egos on their sleeves.DD
