For Christmas I received a Homelink sun visor and during the installation the plastic clip near the rearview mirror broke, maybe due to sitting out in the cold garage. In any case I stopped at the stealer on my way home today to pick up a new one for a total of $1.97! I was in such a state of shock that I paid cash and told them to keep the change.
BTW, that little bugger wasn't as easy to replace as I thought it would be. It's only held in by a single screw but the original one appeared to have been glued around the vinyl. After removing the screw the vinyl tore a little bit and I ended up having to use an xacto knife to carefully cut away the vinyl around the clip. Some super glue repaired the damage to the vinyl and you can't even see the seam where it tore.

I replaced my driver's side about six months ago and the clips came in a package of two for around $2.90. I was in shock as well and started a thread on it very much like yours. I have the extra in reserve since you never know when the passenger side may break.

I've got through 2 of them; I bought a bag of 5 for around $10 at the stealership a few years ago, too. I wouldn't have thought ANYTHING on this car could be replaced for $2!
