Since you just splicing into the radio outputs, you will likely have no iPod functions from the radio controls......you will have to make selections at the iPod.
It's basically a "line-in" jack, that's all. Problem with that is the volume on the iPod will affect the total overall volume since it's connected to the headphone jack (not a line-level jack with a fixed level of output), right? So the iPod volume will potentially have to be adjusted each time you connect it to ensure it's not up too loud and causes distortion, or too soft which will make you have to crank up the head unit.

Either way, I think it's a cool mod.
it isn't that bad. The input that you are tieing into is a befor the amplifier, so it will get conditioned by the stero anyway. I turned my ipod up all the way and there is no distortion.

Yep keep the ipod turned up all the way and it sounds fine. It will also be about the same volume at the cd or radio.
What kind of functionality with this hook up? Do you have to use your Ipod to control the songs or can you still do it with the radio controls? Other than possibly having to use the Ipod for playlists, etc., is there any other drawbacks to using this system? (Other than me possibly frying my GM radio)?
Thanks,
Rossi
You will still have to control the ipod. Be careful
Im wondering about a low priced charger too...anyone know of anyplace? Ive seen them for as low as about $25.
