Very cool modd. To bad I already have an IPOD2CAR interface... I like that this modd will work with any audio player. But my wife and I have IPODS so having them play and charger with one wire is pretty .... Of course you cant beat 3 dollars!!
Makes you wonder why GM didn't add this kinda thing from the factory!!

Oh man I just did this mod yesterday! Best mod for the money any day of the week. If you have a cd changer, you can tap into the wire harness instead of breaking into the radio! No it doesnt charge but a $20 charger plus $3 at radio shack for the jack is an awesome price compared to ipod2car.
One thing I noticed is that working with cat5 wire is hard because it is so thin and can be broken fairly easy. I mounted mine on the traction control/suspension panel forward of the console. Looks factory.
Another plus about this....You still have use of the cd changer unlike ipod2car! Cant go wrong, if you screw up, its only 3 wires to put back together!

Can you tell us which wires you had to splice into? Is it still #1 & #3 like in the internal plug?
I grounded to the black wire. You can splice into the harness right behind the radio but I spliced in the pass side footwell that way I could have the radio plugged in and working while I installed to make sure everything worked right, instead of plugging and unplugging the radio a bunch of times.
From what I understand the jacks can be tempermental esp since you are working and soldering something so tiny, I recommend getting 2 so you have a back up. I ended up using 2 because I melted the first. Again best mod ever for under $10.
