I put a Alpine unit with an adapter that plugs into the back of the stock radio. I have a readout showing what is playing where the ashtray was. It also is a hands free bluetooth for my phone. The Ipod is located in my center console.
Good luck with yours.

Mine is plugged in directly to the back of the stock HU and I have mine installed in the center console also. If you have an earlier version of the Classic like mine it will charge while in use - never leave plugged in over night - causes drain on batt. Mine is an '02 Z that never had that elusive pigtail located somewhere behind the passenger side kick panel like some reportedly do. Call Peripheral @ 866-788-4237 for the correct kit for your Vette. Hope this helps.
Well - Peripheral finally came out with the Re Volt - I ordered thru Crutchfield and what I got was a new multi foot long cable that has to be run clear back to the "brick" behind the stock Bose HU and it won't support both versions of the iPod (old & new). I am in the process of swapping out with Crutchfield for a very short adapter that fits on the existing iPod end of the connecting cable (old model) and converts it to a charging model for use with the new gen iPod or iPhone - or simply unplug the short pigtail and use your old iPod if you're like me and have both - both kits run around $27 bucks and now I don't have to pull the console again and scrape my knuckles. Just had to correct my earlier post!

http://www.pac-audio.com/ Give them a call. Thats what i use.. cheap and works great. Plugs into the wiring harness. ONLY issue i had was your suppose to just push the cd changer button on the head unit and it comes on. Well at first it wasnt. So i put a CD in the cd player and then pushed it and it worked.

Ran a #2 ga wire from the batt back to JL 300/4 & 500/1 amps and RCA cables from the HU back to the "works". I was using an iPod Classic which I mounted in my center console - just switched to a new iPod Touch which says it isn't charging on this setup like my old Classic did - will have to investigate. The sound will blow you away compared to the Bose if you want to go that far or just get the plug & play harness from the above referenced and your iPod will play through the former CD option on your stock HU. Get ready for a tight fit behind the HU but it can be done even though it took me a few calls to tech support to confirm which plug went where. DO IT - YOU'LL LOVE IT!!! I bought all my major components on eBay for approx 1/2 price - JL only warrants through an approved retailer but for 1/2 price who cares!

PS: Forget about looking for a CD pigtail behind the passenger side kick panel - I d&%ned near made a career out of that - it ain't there!!! Go to the back of the HU!

I have this unit its great...

Which adapter did you get that allows you to connect your factor HU to the amps?
I would like to go the same route without hacking up any of the wires too.
Any pics of your setup or install?

so, just to be clear:
This unit will not require anything else as long as you connect to head unit?
And it will charge all units including the iPod Touch?
