Default Tire pressure

I bought a 1999 Corvette yesterday and on the way home it gave me low tire pressure warning. This morning I checked them. They had around 25psi all the way around. I aired them up to 42 front(tire said 44) and 49 rear(tire said 51). Now I am getting a high tire pressure warning. My local Chevy dealer said to look at the sticker on the door as did the owners manual. Well it is gone. Can someone tell me what pressure I should be running?

I think the message comes on if sensors read less than 25 or over 40.

True although I think the top figure is about 44

The readings on the tires are max allowable pressures

You need 30 psi cold all round per the book. I use about 29 cold which gives 32 hot

Don't ever exceed the maximum pressure shown on the side of the tire.

I run 32 all around with my pilot sports.

Does anyone use a digital pressure gauge, and if so, how do you like it?

I run 30 psi all around in the fall and spring
and 28 all around in the summer.
That way the tires end up at 32 hot

30 psi cold is the factory recommendation.

The TPMS will show low pressure under 26 psi and high pressure over 42 psi.

Evil Twin advocates 30 psi hot is the "sweet point" for C5 tire performance.

-I run 28 psi rear and 30 psi front cold usually. In winter it may get down to 26 psi rear and 28 psi front cold.

You should be running 30 psi in the tires. The sensors are designed to come on when you go to 25 psi or below (low pressure warning) and will also tell you when you have way too much air in them.

When I got in my Vette this morning my tires were all at 29 psi cold-just about where they should be.

I run F1 supercars on my Z, many of my friends run Michelin and others but I like the feel of my GY's...
With that said, I like 28-29 in the winter and 22 - 25 in the summer. The reason I mentioned the other tires with harder compounds is that i have heard many people run them at higher pressures.

My tires wear even and long and are still soft enough to bite hard when called upon.

Watch your tire wear and feel the grip, since i have a Z i don't have the benefit of sensors but i do watch them pretty close and seat-o-pant gauge is real close usually.

Mine won't stay the same all the way around. My left rear drops to 25lbs after a cpl of weeks. Two others fluctuate after a cpl of weeks but not as much as the one. I hate leaving somewhere and hear the alarm sound and see the lbs dropped. I don't use runflats so always get scared that I have picked up a nail or something and have a flat.
