WOW! I drove my buddies C5 vert and I was blown away with his MGW shifter. Absolutely loved it! Just ordered mine. It has a nice short throw and the gripper **** rocks!
I have a B&M in my vette right now, but I have thought about switching to the MGW. I had on in my cobra and it was much more notchy. It just felt really solid. Does that sound like this one?
One difference is, when my cobra is in gear it does not wobble at all if you try. My B&M will a little. Is that the same on the vette version too?
I ordered mine on 12/12/07. First it couldnt be sent til after the holidays around the 5th of Jan.... I called to check on it and they said they were waiting for a part?? Then, I checked on it again, now it cant be shipped til the end of Jan. due to rattling complaints which are being worked out.... I cancelled my order tonight, just going with a B&M or Hurst.... cant decide.
I have had both of these. I really liked the C6Z shifter and it is a nice compromise between stock and a true short throw . I decided to try the MGW to see what all the fuss was about. At first I was disappointed because it was hard to shift to 5th and 6th. I altered my seat position backwards ( I usually sit close to the wheel ) to give me more leverage and now I am liking the MGW much better. It is a very precise piece and I had no rattles even with the stock **** (C6). I have also noticed that the shifter is wearing in some and the effort required is becoming noticeably less. There are two versions available a 15% and 30% as well as a choice of upper shafts to mount either the C6 **** or a threaded ****. I got both just in case I want to change. One last thing the price of this shifter makes it a bargain. Hope this helps you decide .

Same here... they've called me twice this week and claimed it will be shipped soon. They said they won't charge my credit card until it's shipped so we'll see what happens...

I will say that they were good with communication. I cancelled my order and recieved an email back saying they were sorry for the inconvienence and my order was cancelled. They never had charged my card. They do seem like a stand up company.
I just cant deal with this crappy shifter in the car now. Its an Ebay shifter that was cut down and its like a wet noodle. I havent been driving too much because of it. We have very nice weather almost year round, so I dont want to miss anymore beautiful days to cruise. I ordered a new B&M last night through Corvettes of Houston. It got to be a huge improvment over what in there now.
I can't tell you a single thing about other brand name shifters but I do know this...
The MGW shifter is a great upgrade. My first reaction was "WOW" I love this. It was an instantaneous reaction because the difference is remarkable. I love the low profile but its the short throw which is simply perfect. I found it easy to shift and there was no rattle.
I suggest waiting till the end of January. What's a couple of weeks? MGW rocks. Mine costs $250 total. Shifter, ****, and shipping.

Well if you can wait a tad bit longer, I will sell you my Kirban for $100 shipped.
i installed a b&m ripper last weekend. it was used and i paid $50 shipped. the throws are alot shorter and precise. i have driven it hard and have not missed any gear shifts either from 2nd to 3rd or 4th to 5th, reserve is also easy to find. it honestly makes me want to drive the car more the shifting takes only a bit more effort but not much. i would recomend a used unit and if you decide you dont like it then you can just pass it on to someone else. the install is no big deal especialy after you do several of them
Love my MGW, although it's started to rattle of late, especially during cold ambient temps under hard acceleration. Pretty quiet most of the time though.
