My buddy that owns a 1999 C5 says that you should never use any kind of floor jack to lift it unless you open every single door on it which includes the drivers/Pass doors,,,,trunk,,,,hood... Is this true??? He says that if you jack it up with a floor jack with the doors closed could mess up the alignment and will cause opening and closing issues.....
I have used a floor jack to lift my car one wheel at a time, both wheels on one side, and either end. I have never had any issuses with panel or door alighment.

I've heard this before and there has been a post or two about it in the past. Bottom line.....not an issue with the C5. Maybe earlier generations but as long as you follow the instructions for the proper jacking of your C5 you'll have not worries.
Here's a great post that will give you everything you need to know about jacking your vette.
