So I was driving tonight coming home from dinner when I noticed that my radio was cutting in and out everytime I used the turn signal and brake. I figured it was just normal draw. Then going downhill on the freeway going 75, my headlights and dash lights went out, service engine soon light came on and I was driving in the dark for a few seconds. I finally got power back and DIC was now clear. My lights kept on dimming everytime I brake or use my window as I limped home. When I got out of the car, the seats and wheel did not go to easy mode. Battery is less than 6 months old and all the connection seem tight. As a precaution, I have a battery mat to protect against leak. Any ideas? Hoping it's just another battery going bad.
Well, I parked her for two days and when I cranked her up tonight, no problem. I drove her for an hour on the freeway and the voltage remained steady at 14.1 and coming back home, it was at 13.8. Did notice a fluctuation after I parked her for a few minutes and the ABS/ traction control lights came on again. The voltage started to go from 13-14 and as quickly it appeared, it disappeared. Coming home was fine again, no dimming of lights and fluctuating voltage.
i remember on a diff car i had it did the same thing it was alternator!! i hope it not that but if it is its right there on top!! not like the rice burners at the back bottom!! good luck man!

You said you checked the connections so this probably isn't what's wrong, but this happened to me in my Camaro and the battery cable wasn't tight. I thought something major was happening.
Check the voltage with the engine off. A fully charged battery is 12.9 volts and a fully discharged battery is 11.4 volts.
Also check the tightness of positive connection on starter.
ok this i dont understand?!?!?!? i was washing my car one time and i had the radio on with the car off just for the time washing my car! so ok it was a lil bit but was hours and hours! but i got in my car and i got the click click click but i was at 13.1 bat and still wouldnt start??? so if 12.9 is fully charged then i wonder what happend?!?!?

You would be amazed how quickly the battery drains. I had a similar situation where I was working on my vette for about an hour with the carr off and radio on. I got the click's when I went to take off. Lots of posts I've read where a member will let their vette set for a couple of days without a charge and the battery drains.

The 12.9 and 11.4 volts apply to a battery that hasn't been charged recently. Experts say it should be at rest for 24 hours, but usually 3 hours is enough. So, if you drove or started the car recently, and the alternator charged it, it could read 13.1 volts.
