A bunch of us were sitting around last night talking about all the little problems C5's have that you need to repair, codes, leaks, lock etc etc...I know you read on here there seem to be a ton of problems, but then only people who need help with a problem will write, so, my 01 has 60k on it, I have owned it 2 years, and outside of fluid changes and items I wanted to put on her, tires, chrome, exhaust, she has not cost me one cent in repairs...I know I can not be alone on this...has there ever been a pool to ask how many people own C5's that have NEVER had a problem?
My first Vette ('01 Mag Red Vert) lots of issues (in the shop 6 times in 4 months) but I attribute those problems to the fact that it was fleet vehicle out of Florida. My current Vette, no issues so far (knock on wood) Just routine maintenance.
Other than routine maintenance I've had no major issues. Had my 98 Coupe also for 2.5 years. There is the rocking seat syndrome and oil pressure gauge always reading 80 psi but I can live with that till I get around to fixing it.
Ive had my '02 almost 6 years and Ive had to replace the ABS computer and get the column lock fixed. Ive had other problems but that was due to my modifications.

I did have a number of the commone problems with mine (oil consumption, rear differential seal leak), but each was repaired under warranty. The rear differential leak was fixed three times, but the dealer did get it fixed finally.
Of interest, most of my problems were in the first 3 years and fixed under warranty. Been trouble free for a while now and I can fix many of the small things myself now I understand the car better.
I've only had my 98 coupe for 9 weeks.
57k when I got it,when it turned 58k,the starter began giving me the "click" a few times before it'd catch.
The starter I pulled out was the original one,so I figure it was due.
Absolutely no other problems -lets hope it stays that way
