Default Which Battery Tender?

I just replaced my battery after 6 years. I only drive it on weekends. I was thinking of getting a battery tender. What do you recommend. Thanks.

Either the ctek or deltron battery tender will work. I personally use the deltron on my vette and motorcycle and have no issues what so ever...

With electronic circuitry being what it is today (cheap and reliable), I say go with any of them. A lot of people have used the cheap internet (Harbour Freight) $6-10 ones and have been happy. I bought a $18 one at Walmart and it works great. It stopped working and I had to send it in for warrenty replacement, but that can happen to anyone.

Set it and forget it...

...plus it has all the safety features you want with a car full of electronics...

I have been using a Sears Diehard Ultra Gold battery tender for 3 years now and have no issues at all. You need a battery tender that switches the charge automatically to a float level so it does not overcharge the battery. Don't use a trickle charger for this reason. Many people here also use the Deltran and CTEK brand battery tenders.

Just purchased one Battery Tender Plus and two Battery Tender Juniors-The Juniors are around $20 have a 5 year warranty-Plugs in the wall like a phone charger-has about 12 ' of cord to your car-and neat disconnects that you can hookup and leave in your car-hook back up anytime you want to maintain your battery-Wouldn't have bought the more expensive Plus if I'd have bought the juniors first-

THis is the one I got, got it from Chip actually. I have not tried to start my car since mid-November (as it has the mothballs and dryer sheets in the engine) but the little green light on the charger says everything is okay so far.

I guess the guys with the battery tender brand are having no problems. That is the one I've seen in stories of fires. Maybe it wasn't true but it was enough that I stayed away from it. My vehicles mean too much to me to fret over the cost of a battery tender so I got CTEKs for both of my summer only vehicles. They work great!

Where do most people clip the clamps to on their C5s? My clips aren't the biggest and they don't like to bite on that little stub sticking out of the side post terminals. I looked around for some kind of extension or adapter but haven't found anything. My other car has top poet and I attached the quick connect eye terminals to the smaller bolts next to the terminals and wish I could do something similar on my C5.

Bought a ctek 3300 for my Z and love it. As was said...plug it in and forget it. Even has a break-away conector in case you forget to much and back out of the garage with it still attached . Little more expensive than the others but I want the best for my car.

Have you checked with Autozone? They might have the adaptor you need.

I've used a Battery Tender Plus on my cars for well over 4 years and have been happy with the performance.

As Bvette2000 mentioned, you can get a bolt that replaces your current bolt and has an extended connection point. They are about $4.00 at Autozone. Here is a link to crutchfields version for $10 >> http://www.crutchfield.com/S-IYLzWTn...l-adaptor.html
