Painted items (pics)
Okay, for 2 days I have attempted to post pics of the FRC's, Fan Cover, and the Fuse Relay Box. This was a DIY project I just completed and today I start on the Hood Liner. These turned out better that expected. Many thanks goes to those who gave me much needed advise.

Bought the sandable primer, clear coat and sandpaper from Auto Zone. I ordered the paint from Auto Touch Up in torch red. It was a perfect match. Here is their address. http://www.automotivetouchup.com/
Thanks to Chip at CCA, he suggested the lettering and it got here just at the right time. He is really a wonderful person to deal with.
Once I placed the lettering onto the FRC's placed 3 coasts of clear and let them set up for at 24 hours.
I then finished them out with McQuires Scratch-X for a real smooth finish. I will give them a month then put a real nice coat of polish on all of the items.
Those migt be the cleanest finish I've seen on a DIY paint job. Very nice work.
Can you give me an estimate on how many hours it took you to do them all total? This might become a one piece per weekend project for me since it is my DD and don't want to run without a fan shroud or some other pieces that I might end up painting.

As to the time spent. Here is my best estimate. Sanding the FRC's to a smooth finish, and painting primer, 4 hours. This included wet sanding the primer also. After wet sanding I let them sit over night to dry. Finish coat, about an hour. 3 to 4 coats and let it dry for at leat 4 hours. Placed the lettering onto the rails. That was very time consuming @ 2 to 3 hours. I was very careful and very picky also. Then 3 to 4 coats of clear. About an hour again. I then let them set up and dry for 24 hours, then rubbed them out with Mcquires. All total a good weekend project. The Fan Cover didn't near as long. I did it 2 days.
I cannot over state that whomever undertakes this project, be patient and pay close attention to the prep work.
That is where your earn your rewards.
Looks beautiful, just enough color, I always go back on forth on just how much is enough under the hood. What you have there looks about perfect. Nice work
